I help people of all ages struggling with loss, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and trauma find peace, healing and growth in their lives. I also help couples and families reconnect with each other so they can find happiness in their relationships again.
I will help guide you through your struggles by providing a secure, non-judgmental, caring, and empathetic environment. For those struggling with past traumatic events, I offer EMDR, brain spotting, or traditional psychotherapy to help process the traumatic experience.
The decision to begin therapy can be intimidating and I would be honored to help you start your journey.
– Maren Massey, MA, AMFT
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at California State University, Sacramento in 2018. After this, I quickly realized I wanted to continue my educational journey and began working towards my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University, Sacramento. I am currently a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#124934) under the supervision of Sean Davis, PhD, LMFT (#45885).
While earning my Master’s degree and clinical hours I worked at a local non-profit agency where I offered low-cost services to diverse populations, presenting with a wide variety of issues. This included individuals, children, couples, families, and victims of crime – presenting with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, complex trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, and many other areas of healing.
- Guiding client’s towards healing after traumatic experiences – I have received training in both Brainspotting and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
- Anxiety & Depression
- Grief & Traumatic Loss
- Relational Distress (Couples, Families)
- Adolescent & Child Therapy
I primarily grew up in Humboldt and Napa County, spending most of my days with my younger siblings who I remain very close to. After high school, I moved to Sacramento to further my education which led me to find new passions, communities, and connections. On my days off, you can find me spending quality time with my fiancé, siblings, friends, puppy, and cat. I love to craft, bake, garden, and decorate for every possible holiday!
Please complete the online intake paperwork before your first session. It takes a while to complete – plan on about 30 minutes – but having this information prior to your arrival helps me make the most of our time together. If the person seeking treatment is a child or adolescent, please fill out the “child/adolescent” paperwork; otherwise please complete the “adult” paperwork. Lastly, only complete the “Release of Information” if requested once we begin meeting. I will provide you with the password.
