Victoria Furmuzan,
MA, AMFT
I am passionate about helping individuals navigate trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. I understand that these issues can be overwhelming and, often, isolating. Therefore, I am committed to supporting individuals lead a more fulfilling life. As your therapist, I offer a safe and non-judgmental environment for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
I believe that meaningful change comes from deepening our understanding of ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.

Education
My fascination with psychology began at a young age when I tried to make sense of who I was and why. Even before I knew the career path I wanted to take, I found myself taking psychology classes simply because I enjoyed them. While I was uncertain about my professional direction, I ended up pursuing a career in the medical field. However, after many years, I realized that line of work did not fulfill me, which led me back to my true passion—mental health.
I went back to school and earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University, Sacramento, in 2021. I then obtained my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. I am now a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #150494), supervised by Sean Davis, PhD, LMFT (#45885).

Professional
My clinical experience includes working at a local nonprofit, where I provided affordable therapeutic services to low-income families. I particularly enjoyed working with teen girls navigating the challenges of middle and high school, and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. However, my deepest passion lies in helping individuals heal from trauma and PTSD. I understand that facing trauma can be quite overwhelming and very scary, but I’d be honored to help support you and guide you along the way. You deserve to be free from your past and free from your pain. You deserve to be the person you’ve always wanted to be!

Personal
I was born and raised in Sacramento after my family immigrated here from Eastern Europe. We faced many difficult and tough challenges, and unfortunately, therapy was never a part of my world. I struggled trying to understand myself and the things I experienced, often feeling very alone in that process. When I finally decided to seek therapy, I remember thinking, Wow, I wish I would have done this sooner! Now, I have the privilege of helping others experience that same, incredible feeling.
When I am not busy at work, I’m usually spending time with my dog, family, or the great outdoors! I love going camping, paddleboarding, trail running, and biking. I also find joy in trying new recipes, gardening, and immersing myself in a good romance or psychological thriller.
