Jamie Barrett, MA,

AMFT, APCC

I help individuals and couples who feel stuck in repeating patterns, constant conflict, or emotional overwhelm build stronger communication, regain stability, and reconnect in more meaningful ways. If conversations keep going in circles, tension keeps building, or your relationship feels more distant than it used to, you’re not alone, and things can improve. Together, we work to understand what’s happening underneath those patterns and create meaningful, lasting change.
In therapy, we’ll slow things down and make sense of what’s driving the stress, disconnection, or emotional ups and downs. You’ll learn practical ways to communicate more clearly, manage intense emotions, and respond differently in the moments that usually lead to conflict. My approach is structured, supportive, and focused on helping you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

Professional

My professional experience includes technology leadership, chaplaincy, and mental health care, which together provide a strong foundation for a structured, systems-informed approach to therapy. I spent nearly two decades in technology and senior leadership roles, developing expertise in problem-solving, collaboration, and working within complex systems, which continues to inform how I help clients understand patterns and improve communication.

In addition, I have served in chaplaincy and crisis response roles, supporting individuals and families through trauma, addiction, grief, and loss.

I have provided clinical services to individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, addiction, and relational challenges across a range of settings. My work focuses on helping clients understand patterns, improve communication, reduce conflict, process emotional pain, and create meaningful, lasting change in their relationships and daily lives.I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #152396) and Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #18608), practicing under the supervision of Sean Davis, PhD, LMFT (CA LMFT #45885).

Personal

I’m a big believer in enjoying life and making time for what matters most. My wife and I have a blended family, and we’re grateful for our four adult children. Our home is lively with two playful dogs and a curious cat, so there’s rarely a dull moment. I enjoy staying active, including time at the gym and competing in our community bocce ball league.

I’ve always been drawn to connecting with people, and at one point I even tried improv comedy, which taught me the value of spontaneity, listening, and maintaining a sense of humor—no matter the situation.

I enjoy exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. I grew up in England and have been a lifelong fan of Manchester United, there’s nothing quite like a good match to bring some energy into the week.

I strive to live openly and authentically, valuing honesty, connection, and meaningful relationships in all areas of life.

I consider myself a Christian, and if clients request, I am open to thoughtfully incorporating that perspective into our work. Regardless of your beliefs, therapy is always centered on your goals and what feels most helpful to you.
