Jamie Barrett, MA,
AMFT, APCC
My passion is supporting individuals and couples navigating trauma, emotional dysregulation, recovery, and relational distress, helping them move toward greater stability, connection, and meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to create a therapeutic plan that aligns with their goals, values, and lived experiences, emphasizing safety, accountability, and growth.
I take a trauma-informed and relational approach, integrating emotional regulation, attachment awareness, and recovery-oriented support. I am trained in evidence-based relationship modalities, including Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), as well as trauma-focused approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also have experience supporting individuals coping with crisis, substance use, and significant life transitions.

Professional
My professional experience includes technology leadership, chaplaincy, and mental health care, providing a strong foundation for a structured, systems-informed approach to therapy. I spent nearly two decades in technology and senior leadership roles, developing expertise in problem-solving, collaboration, and organizational systems. In addition, I have served in chaplaincy and crisis response roles, supporting individuals, and families through trauma, addiction, grief, and loss.
I have provided clinical services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and individuals impacted by trauma or addiction. My experience has helped clients to navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addiction, relational challenges, life transitions, systemic stress, and other complex mental health concerns in both community and clinical settings.
I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #152396) and a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #18608), practicing under the supervision of Sean Davis, PhD, LMFT (CA LMFT #45885).

Personal
I’m a big believer in enjoying life and making time for the things that matter most. My wife and I have a blended family, and we’re blessed with four wonderful adult children. Our household is lively with two playful dogs and a curious cat, so there’s never a dull moment. I enjoy staying active at the gym and competing in our community Bocce Ball League.
I’ve always been drawn to connecting with people, and in the past, I even tried my hand at improv comedy, which taught me the value of spontaneity, listening, and keeping a sense of humor no matter what the situation
I love exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. I grew up in England and have been a lifelong fan of Manchester United—there’s nothing quite like a good match to bring excitement to the week!
I strive to live openly and transparently, valuing honesty, laughter, and shared experiences in all areas of life.
I consider myself a Christian, and if my clients request I will incorporate that perspective into our work as appropriate. No matter your beliefs, therapy is always focused on your goals and needs.
