Emily Turner

I help clients rediscover peace and fulfillment through a more connected and congruent life. My passion lies in assisting adults with high-functioning anxiety or those healing from past hurts caused by emotionally immature, dismissive, or disengaged parents. Together, we’ll work on reconnecting you with your authentic self, finding joy and creating deeper, more meaningful relationships.

I understand how easy it is to get stuck in cycles of perpetual busyness, self-doubt, perfectionism, and people-pleasing out of guilt or fear of rejection. But change is possible. You’ve spent years focused on others—now it’s your turn. My primary goal is to empower you as an expert in your own life. Let’s work together to get you off the hamster wheel and back in the driver’s seat.

In the therapy room with me, you can expect a judgment-free, compassionate space where real change happens. I understand the challenges that come with growth and I’m not a passive, “nod your head” type therapist. My clients appreciate my genuine, authentic, and direct approach.

Therapy is hard work, and it requires commitment and openness to see results. In return, I bring the same level of dedication. I engage actively, helping you connect the dots, gain insight, uncover new perspectives, and confront challenges. Together, we’ll create a safe space for you to explore, grow, and thrive.

Emily Turner, MA, AMFT

Before becoming a therapist, I built and led teams at hyper-scaling tech companies in San Francisco and Atlanta as a recruiter and talent leader. I enjoyed coaching individuals through major life transitions and goal achievement, which led me to pursue a career in marriage and family therapy.

Now, as a registered associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#140686) under the supervision of Sean Davis, Ph.D., LMFT (#45885), I find it a great honor to see people for their authentic selves and support them through life’s many challenges.

Previously I have practiced therapy in medical settings with clients aged 8 to 85, including diverse gender identities, sexualities, and ethnicities. I’ve also enjoyed frequently partnering with individuals trying therapy for the first time, offering compassion to those who feel skeptical or resistant. If it’s not your first time, that’s OK, too — we can continue building on your previous work!

Clinical Specialties

Sushi rolls, soulful chats with friends over wine, summer storms, solo concerts on the drive to work, when the trees bloom, a perfectly curated workout playlist, puppy kisses, little acts of kindness, and self-care massages — these are a few of my favorite things.

When not in the therapy room you can find me spending quality time with my partner and our two golden retriever fur babies, enjoying board game nights; or perfecting my fantasy football team (my guilty pleasure).
