Andrew Lee,

MA, AMFT

My passion is to help people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and difficult life challenges move to a place where they are thriving and not just surviving. I like to work collaboratively with my clients to create a therapeutic plan that best helps them achieve their personal goals and development. I am trained in multiple trauma focused modalities (EMDR, TF-CBT) and have extensive experience working with individuals coping with trauma.

Education

  • Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology from University of San Francisco
  • Master’s of Divinity (Pastoral Counseling) from Bethel University
  • Bachelor of Arts in English from University of California, Davis

Professional

My professional journey is considerably varied and rather unique. In my first career I served as a pastor in many different capacities (church-planting, leading musical worship, teaching, and counseling). I also worked in the field of Technology for nearly two decades and had the privilege of working at both Apple and Tesla. During my first graduate studies I also worked as a teacher at a private Christian school in San Diego. While attending the University of San Francisco I worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee for a community counseling center and served individuals surviving trauma, children with neurodivergence, as well as those who were coping with anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#149806) supervised by Sean Davis, PhD, LMFT (#45885).

Clinical Specialties

  • Trauma (PTSD, childhood trauma, physical and sexual abuse).
  • Adoptive Family Issues
  • Anxiety & Depression
  • Grief & Loss

Personal

As a foster-adoptive parent I have intimate experience helping children living with trauma find healing. I also understand the unique challenges of parenting neurodivergent children (I have a child on the Autism spectrum and multiple children with ADHD).

For fun, I love to ride my bike and will often spend several hours on the weekend trying to log as many miles as time allows. I also love to sing and play guitar, listen to music, and play card games.

I consider myself a non-judgmental Christian and for those interested, I like to incorporate spirituality when it is therapeutically appropriate.
